How to get from Zadar Airport to the centre
Zadar Airport (ZAD) is in Zemunik, only about 12 km from the old town, so getting in is quick and cheap. Here's how in 2026.
Airport shuttle — best value
The Liburnija shuttle bus meets flights (leaving roughly 30 minutes after arrival) and costs about €5 one way, luggage included. It takes 20–25 minutes and stops at the Gaženica ferry port, the main bus station, and the old town on the peninsula (Liburnska obala). A neat trick: the ticket stays valid for around 90 minutes on Zadar's city buses, so you can ride onward for free. Pay the driver (cash or card) or use the SMARTICA app. Off-season it may run only a few times a day.
Taxi — fastest
A taxi to the old town costs roughly €25–35 and takes 15–20 minutes. Make sure the meter is running or agree the fare first. Note that Uber and Bolt do not operate in Zadar, so there's no rideshare to compare.
Private transfer — book ahead
A pre-booked transfer (about €30–45) is a small premium over a taxi for this short hop, but gives you a fixed price and a driver waiting in arrivals — handy for late flights or groups.
Good to know
The old town sits on a compact peninsula — the Liburnska obala stop puts you right by the sights, the sea organ and the harbour. Ready to pick a base? See our boutique hotels in Zadar.
