How to get from Pula Airport to the centre

20 May 2026 · 5 min read

Pula Airport (PUY) is small and close — only about 6–8 km from the centre, a 10–20 minute ride. That keeps every option cheap. Here's how in 2026.

Shuttle routes and frequencies are seasonal — many run mainly in summer, so check current timetables.

Airport shuttle — handy for Istria too

Shuttle buses (run by Brioni and FILS) leave about 30 minutes after each flight. A ticket to Pula's main bus station costs around €6 and takes 15–20 minutes. The clever part: there are also direct shuttle routes from the airport on to Rovinj (around €20), Poreč, Umag and Rabac — so you can skip Pula entirely if Istria is your destination. Online tickets are usually cheaper than paying the driver.

City bus — cheapest

Pulapromet city line 23 connects the airport with the centre for roughly €4, running frequently (about every 15–30 minutes) and taking around 25 minutes — the best value if your timing lines up.

Taxi — fastest

Because the airport is so close, a taxi to central Pula is only about €15–20 and takes under 15 minutes. Agree the fare or check the meter first.

Good to know

The main bus station sits just northeast of the centre, within walking distance of the Roman amphitheatre and the ferry port. Settling in Pula? See our boutique stays in Pula.
