Murter: your base for the Kornati islands
If the Kornati islands are on your list, Murter is where you start. Joined to the mainland by a little bridge, it's the home port of the families who own and farm the Kornati — and the easiest launch point for a boat trip.
Why Murter
Murter sits closest to the Kornati archipelago, so day boats from Tisno, Jezera and Murter town reach the islands quickly and spend more time among them than trips from further away. The island itself is low-key and pleasant, with quiet beaches and konobas.
The boat trip
Most excursions include the park entrance fee, a swim stop in a clear cove and lunch at an island konoba. Bring water, sun cover and shoes that cope with sharp stone.
Beyond Murter
It also pairs with the St Anthony channel and the city of Šibenik just south, or Zadar to the north — both alternative gateways to the Kornati.
